Great move for Facebook as a company but in my opinion it is
pretty lame for the users. This got me to thinking about how the different
“social” platforms get money from the users, as well as the advertisers and if
it is fair for them to charge us for what was once a free service.
Facebook was such a well thought out targeted marketing plan
and wow did they ever monopolize on the information that we so willingly
submitted. I, like most of you, am still submitting information voluntarily
daily by posting, commenting, liking, checking-in or by using any other
Facebook platform to communicate or interact. These daily interactions of
course are all supported by my contact information so Facebook can easily
market me based on the criteria I provide.
As I stated earlier this was a very well thought out plan.
What are your thoughts on how the different “social”
platforms claim to be free but then do things like Facebook has and charge you
to “access” their information?
